Holding Out for a Hero

The year was 1984.  Kevin Bacon was dancing across the screen fighting the good fight in a small town in the south and Bonnie Tyler’s "Holding Out for a Hero" was being played across the airwaves of the nation on MTV and radio as a hit on the soundtrack to "Footloose.

Although the storyline to Bonnie Tyler’s video is one of heated passion waiting for a hero to rescue her from the bad black-hatted cowboys, the words ring out to many different situations that occur throughout our community, the state, the nation and the world.
