Rumors Viewed as Truth

All the world lies in silence as the darkness of night creeps across the sky; the moon rising to take its place as the supreme ruler of all that is under the sky.

Melancholy girls secretly crying in the solitude of their bedrooms as the memories of the rumors viewed as truths haunt them.

Mirrors and those reflections that give credibility to all the nasty rumors viewed as truths mock them.

Razor blades slice deep into the pain that course through the veins under their skin. All the rumors viewed as truths are released into the world and as the blood flows the release is euphoric.

Bathroom floors are cool to the face that has purged the rumors viewed as truths.

Chemical numbness soothes the electric avenue of pain racing through their head where rumors are viewed as truth.

Seductive cyber-interludes touch the lonely heart where the rumors viewed as truths live.

Notebooks bear the scribbling of rumors viewed as truths morphing from the fantasy into reality.

Bullying is a lame term to describe the tormenting and terrorizing sweeping through the lives of our young people.

Ladies and gentlemen of the public our children are at war – with one another. They fight terrorism born not of political posturing, but out of desperation, despair, and isolation. We are MIA in their world. They don’t need weapons of war to deliver a targeted stinger missile. All they need are words. Words carry more power and might in their world than any weapon of war man can create.

The pen is mightier than the sword.

When you speak words in hate know that they carry much power and can never be taken back. They carry more power than you can ever imagine. When you spread rumors about others those rumors are causing more than just hurt feelings. When you taunt and torment others know that you don’t know what happens under the light of the moon in the silence of the night. Enough. Bullycide is only five letters away from homicide. The guilt is yours to live with; the pain belongs to the families – to live with forever.

Bullying is not cool.

  1. Well said PW! Teens (and all people) are so capable of being mean and cruel and words are the weapons of females….andf males. “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?” That gem of truth comes from the prophet Jeremiah ( 17:9)
It is so tragic that too many of those who receive the cruel messages are vulnerable to them. There must be a number of guilty consciences right now—if any of them are capable of feeling guilt.

I agree that the term “bullying” is lame and doesn’t even start to describe the pain and suffering inflicted on victims!
